
At
eleven, Detroit Danny received his first guitar as a Christmas present from
his father,and
at fourteen he joined his first working band,playing high school dances and
wedding receptions.
Being from Detroit,Danny was able to see a lot of the great blues men, like
John Lee Hooker
and Lightnin Hopkins. But seeing Luther Allison at the 1973 Ann Arbor Jazz
& Blues Festival
is what really started his obsession with the blues.
Since being in Chicago, Detroit Danny has played with the legendary Junior
Wells Band,
Shirley King (daughter of the King of the Blues, BB King), and also Son Seals,
just to name a few.
Now after more than thirty years of paying his dues,he is a powerful triple
threat.
Whether he is putting his signature on blues classics or doing his own material,
